Owen's First Day of Kindergarten

Owen started school last week. He was very excited, yet fairly nervous as well. You can tell from a couple of the pictures, his face shows it all! He was lucky to be placed in a class with a friend from church, Rachel. I think that has made the transition a bit easier. He seems to enjoy school so far. His favorite has been eating in the "bacateria" as he calls it. He gets pretty excited when he talks about what he is having in his lunch box.

I thought there would be a big difference with him being gone during the day, but not so. The twins are such a handful, that I hardly have time to think about it. It really is such a surreal moment, though, watching your oldest child wave goodbye and walk into the classroom, without you! Bitter-sweet, I would say!

I'm wondering if he's one of the younger kids in class? I didn't realize K and Owen are in the same grade. Fun!! Well, it was promotions and raise time again.......I've come to the conclusion that this time of the year is not necessarily the happiest time of the year. Go figure!! Things at this office don't quite run the way you would think so.

Sara, if you think watching your oldest child head off to school without you is surreal, just wait until it's your youngest....and she's headed off to college. Enjoy the moment. Love you, Aunt Vickie
