Our tiny snowstorm the week before Christmas was small potatoes when compared to the massive snowstorm which began 3 days after Christmas. We received record breaking amounts of snow (for Albuquerque), over 12 inches in one day in our part of town. It continued to snow for 2 days, pretty much constantly. We ended up with about 18 inches. Albuquerque is not prepared or equipped for such snow. Everything shut down, even the mall! The temperature has stayed quite cold, so not much has melted. It has been almost a week, and our neighborhood's roads are still covered in thick ice.
